— What You Can Expect —

Depart from Taichung and journey deep into the mountains of Nantou. After Taiwan’s massive Jiji earthquake, landslides shaped the mountains to create lakes and drown entire forest patches; these dead cedar tree pockets are what is now “Lotus Forest.” Meet your friendly tour guide for a scenic hike through the forest.

Take in the surreal mountainous atmosphere as dense fog blankets the landscape. Spot high mountain tea slopes emerge from thick mist. Stop at tranquil ponds reflecting bare trees, and marvel at the fairytale-like scenery.

Head over to the Sun Link Sea (Shanlinxi) Forest Recreation Area. Cross winding wooden bridges over vast ponds. Stumble upon the Songlong Rock Waterfall cascading from the mountainside as you wander about.
